Annabelle Chambon, Cédric Charron, and Marina Kaptijn
Troubleyn / Jan Fabre

From Action to Interpretation

The 3 week SUMMER LAB will be given by Marina Kaptijn, Annabelle Chambon and Cédric Charron, three dancers who have worked the past 15 years with Jan Fabre on numerous projects. In the first week, Marina Kaptijn offers a confrontation with the material developed by the company Troubelyn/ Jan Fabre. Annabelle Chambon and Cédric Charron will then, in the following two weeks, go on to expand these bases established. In the Stanislavski tradition, Meyerhold and even Grotowski, Jan Fabre has created throughout his career a repertoire of "exercises" to prepare his performers for the stage. These "guiding lines for the 21st century performer" have become the basis of his pedagogy and are found concretly in his work. They aim to intensify and structurally improve the research of the performers' corporeal interpretive potential. The exploration of this evocative power of the "body in its totality" represents the backbone of this workshop: the imagination and the corporeal conscience progressively intensify and the performer is challenged to achieve a state of physical transformation.
