Une amorce infinie de changement.
Induire, selon François Jullien, c’est : savoir engager discrètement un processus, faire basculer le potentiel de la situation de son côté, aider ce qui vient tout seul. Induire l’effet est le contraire de le commander du dehors.
Comment travailler à une constante adaptation au moment ? Comment créer dans une perspective de déroulement continu et de renouvellement par alternance ? Comment se fier au développement des processus qui de l’infime de leur amorce se développent jusqu’à l’infini ?
Au cours de cette semaine avec Alban Richard, vous pratiquerez des ateliers d’expérimentations et de recherches afin de traverser cette notion de l’amorce.

Alban Richard découvre la danse contemporaine en parallèle de ses études littéraires et musicales. Dès la fin des années 1990, il travaille pour différents chorégraphes tels qu’Odile Duboc, Olga de Soto ou Rosalind Crisp…
En 2000, Alban Richard fonde l’ensemble l’Abrupt pour lequel il crée une trentaine de pièces très différentes, toujours en rapport étroit avec une oeuvre musicale dont il questionne l’écriture et la structure formelle. Ainsi, chaque création ouvre une nouvelle recherche, une nouvelle gestuelle, se démarquant de la précédente. La façon dont il élabore ses spectacles, dans une écriture au plateau nourrie d’improvisations contraintes, incite les interprètes à devenir créateurs de leur propre danse. Alban Richard a collaboré avec l’ensemble Alla francesca, Les Talens Lyriques, les Percussions de Strasbourg, l’Ensemble intercontemporain, l’IRCAM et les ensembles Cairn, Instant Donné et Alternance, ainsi que les compositeurs Arnaud Rebotini, Sebastian Rivas, Erwan Keravec, Jérôme Combier, Laurent Perrier, Raphaël Cendo, Robin Leduc, Paul Clift, Wen Liu, Matthew Barnson…
Chorégraphe prolixe, Alban Richard est régulièrement invité par des ballets et des compagnies, tant à l’international (Canada, Lituanie, Norvège) qu’en France, à créer des oeuvres de commande.
Depuis 2015 il dirige le centre chorégraphique national de Caen en Normandie, avec un projet fondé à la fois sur une démarche d’auteur et un travail en lien avec le territoire et ses habitants.

Starting the process of change over and over, in an infinite cycle.
For François Jullien, inducing means knowing how to discreetly initiate a process, to tip the potential of a situation in one’s favour, to help shepherd what comes along naturally.
To induce an effect is the opposite of ordering it to happen from the outside. How can we work towards constantly adapting to the present moment?
How to create while alternating continuous development and renewal?
How can we trust the development of processes which, from their most intimate beginnings, develop into infinity?
During this week with Alban Richard, you will practice experimentation and research workshops through the notion of beginnings.

Alban Richard discovered contemporary dance while studying literature and music.
Since the end of the 1990s, he has worked for various choreographers such as Odile Duboc, Olga de Soto and Rosalind Crisp, among others.
In 2000, Alban Richard founded the ensemble l’Abrupt for which he created some thirty very different pieces, always in close relation to a musical work whose writing and formal structure he questions. Each creative piece relies on a new area of research or a new gesture which stands out from the previous one. The he develops his performances through writing on stage, enriched by controlled improvisations, encourages the performers to become creators of their own dances. Alban Richard has collaborated with the ensemble Alla Francesca, Les Talens Lyriques, the Percussions de Strasbourg, the Ensemble Intercontemporain, IRCAM and the ensembles Cairn, Instant Donné and Alternance, as well as composers Arnaud Rebotini, Sebastian Rivas, Erwan Keravec, Jérôme Combier, Laurent Perrier, Raphaël Cendo, Robin Leduc, Paul Clift, Wen Liu, Matthew Barnson, and more.
A prolific choreographer, Alban Richard is regularly invited to work with ballets and companies both internationally (Canada, Lithuania, Norway) and in France and to create commissioned works.
Since 2015, he has been directing the National Choreographic Centre of Caen in Normandy, with a project based on both an authorial approach and a body of work connected to the local area and its inhabitants.
